Posh Pet Hotel

West Palm Beach’s newest hotel and spa is designed to delight those who appreciate the finer things in life. From the tranquil, beachy color scheme to the crystal chandeliers, this place is all about luxury. It has everything you’d expect from a five-star retreat: gourmet organic cuisine, chauffeur service (in a Lamborghini, if you want), flat-screen TVs, massage therapy, paw-dicures, the same brand of artificial grass that celebrity dog trainers use…

That’s right: The Posh Pet Hotel is for pets only

If you’d like to stay here yourself, you’re not alone, says owner Lincoln Baker. “We’ve even had humans coming in the door looking to book a room,” Baker says. Even in this high-end area, his hotel is in a league of its own. “There’s nothing like this in South Florida, including Miami. Most places are kennel-ish,” he says.

If there’s one thing the Posh Pet Hotel is not, it’s kennel-ish. There are no cages, and the staff is on site 24/7. The 13,000-square-foot facility is far more than just a place for pampered pets to stay while their humans are away. It also offers premium daycare, grooming, training, and spa services. The dogs of Florida’s A-list celebrities would not be seen anywhere else.

Guests at the hotel can watch dog-themed TV and movies, such as Scooby Doo, Lady and the Tramp, and 101 Dalmatians. Sure, the dogs may not understand the plotlines, but they do like the noise. Some dogs will cry if it’s too quiet. “The bottom line is that the animals like to hear things,” Baker says. The staff will even lie down with the dogs and read them a bedtime story.

Lincoln Baker says he wanted the best of everything for his luxury pet hotel—that’s why he chose Kuranda beds.

“We did our research. A lot of other facilities have Kuranda beds,” he says. “You can tell how well they’re made.” He appreciates that Kuranda beds are easy to clean, comfortable even for older dogs, durable, and made in America.

For the daycare, he chose rugged aluminum-framed beds of various sizes. For the smaller rooms in the hotel, he chose PVC-framed beds with covers embroidered with the hotel logo for a custom touch. The larger rooms of the hotel have memory-foam beds covered with the same material that Kuranda uses for its bed covers.

Baker and his guests love Kuranda beds so much, the new pet boutique at the Posh Pet Hotel will carry them.

Mere weeks after the opening of the Posh Pet Hotel, Lincoln Baker is already looking ahead. He wants to take the brand national. “Eventually our goal is to open multiple locations” in places like California, Texas, and New York, he says. And, of course, that will mean more Kuranda beds for the new furry guests.
