Bubba is living the high life at the Posh Pet Hotel in West Palm Beach.
The 2½-year-old morkie (a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and Maltese) has a queen-size bed to kick back his paws, a flat-screen television to watch his favorite pet programming and an indoor area where he play to his heart’s content with other dogs his size.
“We’ve had a lot of people that keep coming back because we really take care of them,” said Lincoln Baker, owner of Posh Pet.
The 12,000-square-foot pet hotel opened three weeks ago.
There are five different types of rooms. Prices range from $49 smaller room to the $120 presidential suite.
“We just want to do something different – that kind of a home away from home for dogs and cats,” Baker said.
There are plenty of add-on to purchase. There’s a salon spa, where they do pawdicures and obedience classes. They even offer filet mignon with green beans, organic biscuits, and frozen yogurt.
When a pet really wants to wind down, they can get some serious one-on-one service.
“If they want their dog to have a bedtime story, we read a bedtime story along with a tummy rub,” Baker said.
Bubba’s owner, Eva Lilja, arrived to take him home Tuesday afternoon.
“By the signs of how Bubba is, he’s had a great time, “Lilja said. “He’s totally calm, which means he hasn’t been stressed out, and I could tell right away.”
The Posh Pet Hotel is located on Dixie Highway near Forest Hill Boulevard in West Palm Beach.
