A swanky new five-star pet hotel is giving the phrase ‘in the dog house’ a whole new meaning.
The 130-room Posh Pet Hotel, in Palm Beach County, Florida, offers pampered pooches the very latest in canine luxury, from ‘pawdicures’ to bed time stories and everything in between. Gentle mood music tinkles in the lobby and bejewelled chandeliers hang from every ceiling, as staff welcome the hotel’s latest arrivals.
Soft music plays in the lobby as guests check in at the front desk. Chandeliers dangle from the ceilings of suites, where visitors lounge on memory-foam beds and watch cable on flat-screen TVs. Blueberry facials, Brazilian waxes and aromatherapy baths are among the treatments available in the gleaming spa.

WEST PALM BEACH — Posh Pet Hotel owner Lincoln Baker is betting that area residents will spend $120 a day to board their dogs.
And for that, he plunked down what could be upward of $1 million to transform an old South Dixie Highway CVS pharmacy into the ultimate hotel for dogs and cats, the Posh Pet Hotel.
“When someone comes to spend big money at The Breakers or the Four Seasons, they usually are not able to keep their dog with them,” says Baker, a father of two who quit his insurance executive job in Los Angeles and moved to Palm Beach to open the high-class pet boarding business. “That’s where we come in. What’s $120 if the dog’s masters are spending ten times as much per day for their room?”
Bubba is living the high life at the Posh Pet Hotel in West Palm Beach.
The 2½-year-old morkie (a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and Maltese) has a queen-size bed to kick back his paws, a flat-screen television to watch his favorite pet programming and an indoor area where he play to his heart's content with other dogs his size.
"We've had a lot of people that keep coming back because we really take care of them," said Lincoln Baker, owner of Posh Pet.
